The last time we&#8217;d met for a meal we spent the entire afternoon talking about writing and publishing and everything in between.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13010\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13010\" style=\"width: 474px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-13010\" src=\"http:\/\/www.melanierobertson-king.com\/wp02\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_2600-1280x1920-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Sept 18\" width=\"474\" height=\"711\" srcset=\"https:\/\/melanierobertson-king.com\/wp02\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_2600-1280x1920-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/melanierobertson-king.com\/wp02\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_2600-1280x1920-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/melanierobertson-king.com\/wp02\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_2600-1280x1920-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/melanierobertson-king.com\/wp02\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_2600-1280x1920.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13010\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Do not disturb &#8211; chef at work.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure what Nicky&#8217;s husband was preparing for us when I took this picture, but he&#8217;s certainly in deep thought.<\/p>\n<p>Over a wonderful selection of Tapas (mushrooms in a creamy garlic sauce, tear and share bread, mussels in sauce, Spanish Omelette, fish cakes, Chorizo sausage in a red wine sauce, and cheese and olives and likely other things I&#8217;ve forgotten). The meal was delicious!<\/p>\n<p>This time the conversations went beyond the nineteen to the dozen on the subject of writing and publishing, we dabbled in the Brexit debate&#8230; was it good, was it bad. The Wells family move from Bristol to Lincoln&#8230; and a number of subjects in between.<\/p>\n<p>All too soon, our wonderful afternoon came to an end and he had to carry on down the road to Market Rasen.<\/p>\n<p>I hurt Monty today. After yesterday, driving around trying to find Castle Acre Priory, through the Bailey Gate, down Blind Lane (aptly named because it&#8217;s so narrow that the leaves on the trees touch both sides of the car as you drive down it. Yikes! Thankfully, I never met anyone.<\/p>\n<p>But after that and traversing a number of other narrow roads with passing places &#8211; all without incident, I might add, a brick wall and narrow, driveway (at an awkward angle to enter) thwarted me. Monty got scratched on the front, passenger door.<\/p>\n<p>It took some maneuvering but I managed (with some navigational help from hubby to get Monty righted and into the driveway. It wasn&#8217;t like this was the first time we&#8217;d stayed at this guesthouse either. It was the third time! Just Monty was the biggest car.<\/p>\n<p>We were so stuffed after all the delicious food nibbled on all afternoon, that we didn&#8217;t even attempt to go out for a meal.<\/p>\n<p>Once settled, I emailed my cousin in Dragonby about stopping in on our way through on Tuesday (20th) for a visit with him.
