Had he, he wouldn&#8217;t have been stabbed to death at a meeting of the senate on 15th March, 44 BC.<\/p>\n<p>Did you know that March was the first month in the Roman calendar? The Romans didn&#8217;t number the days sequentially from the beginning of the month either. They went by the beginning, the middle and the beginning of the next month instead. The term &#8220;Ides&#8221; merely referred to the middle of the month and supposedly determined by the full moon.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: blue;\"><strong>The Ides of March<\/strong><\/span> was also a rock group in the 1960s-1970s and possibly best known for their song <span style=\"color: blue;\"><em><strong>I&#8217;m Your Vehicle Baby<\/strong><\/em><\/span>. I remember having that single on a 45 rpm record!
