Not the city of the same name but the cocktail.<\/p>\n

\"Manhattan\"<\/a>How to make a Manhattan:<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 ounces rye whiskey
\n1\/2 ounce sweet vermouth
\n2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
\nMaraschino cherry for garnish<\/p>\n

Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice cubes (or into a cocktail shaker).
\nStir well.
\nStrain into a chilled cocktail glass.
\nGarnish with the cherry.<\/p>\n

Variations on the classic version of the ‘manny’…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dry Manhattan-<\/strong> Use a dash of dry vermouth and garnish with a lemon twist.
\nPerfect Manhattan-<\/strong> Equal parts of sweet and dry vermouth. Garnish with a lemon twist.
\nBrandy Manhattan-<\/strong> Replace whiskey with brandy.
\nScotch Manhattan-<\/strong> Replace whiskey with Scotch.
