You’ve heard of the KISS method? Well, had a known solving my wonky S problem was going to be this easy, I would have done it ages ago.
When I had my nails done yesterday, I finally broke down and had them cut them back a bit. I loved them as long as they were but have to admit, not terribly practical. Anyway, when I fired up the laptop for the first time yesterday with shorter nails, the wonky S was no longer wonky. Looks like before, I wasn’t getting enough fingertip/nail on the key for it to strike.
Life is once again good so I’ll have to watch my language… $hoot.
Shortly after 6:00, the scratching on the bedroom door and the whining started. Crazy animal doesn’t know it’s the weekend and that lie-ins are permitted!
I mean, he does the same thing 7 days a week for at least 20 hours a day – lies around and sleeps. But for those of us who have to get up at 6:00 or earlier (Mon-Fri) we enjoy that extra half-hour to an hour’s shut eye.
But look at the face… How could you stay mad at a face like that?
I just checked in at Janice Horton’s Bagpipes & Bullshot blog. Her book entered Amazon.co.uk’s Bestseller charts yesterday morning and got up to #19 (Books/Fiction/Women’s Fiction). It reached #25 in the Kindle/Romance/Contemporary Bestsellers. And up to #34 in Amazon Books/Romance/Adult Contemporary.
Only a few short hours to go and you will find out what the big secret is on my blog on April 1st.
In the meantime, I’ve added links to blogs/sites that I follow and have added a rather lengthy biography about me (subject to change if I decide I can write it better and more concise… not to mention add other goodies.

Have you ever noticed how being spammed comes in waves? You’ll go for long stretches and your filter catches all off the wee blighters, and other times, they get through and run riot. While it can be interesting reading by times, it’s a pain in the a$$ having to be ever vigilant and deleting the wee blighters. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t resist. Not sure what’s the root cause of it, but the “S” key on my laptop has been wonky of late, to say the least. Right now it seems to be working fine but when you’re working away on a “particularly gripping” segment, having to go back and add “s” every time it doesn’t appear where it should becomes extremely frustrating, not to mention by the time you get the missing letters added, your train of thought as been derailed. Sometimes, it’s so bad that even when you go back and read from the beginning of the passage you never get back on track. Your vision of the perfect scene is up in a poof of smoke… or a wonky “s”.
Well, we were a bit later getting started today but all in all, successful for the three of us. I managed 817 words on my manuscript, even though I was contending with an “s” key that wasn’t responding. Still isn’t cooperating as well as I would like it to but it is behaving better. Think the keyboard on the laptop needs a D&C.
