Aardvarks are native to Africa. They’re a medium-sized, nocturnal mammal with a long pig-like snout, which they use to sniff out food. Their diet consists of ants and termites, dug out of their hills using their sharp claws and powerful legs. Their digging ability is also used to create burrows to live in and raise their offspring.
They’re such interesting creatures. I think I heard on the radio recently that they’re a very threatened species on the edge of extinction.
YAY! I love aardvarks! They get a brief mention from me today, too. Nice to meet you!
I’ve only ever seen aardvarks in the zoo. I was surprised by how quickly they move around.
Aardvarks are so ugly they are cute. Thanks for the neat post.
Interesting animal. They resemble the armadillo, a little, I guess it’s the long snout.
They’re certainly an interesting looking animal for sure, Misha. I hope they’re not on the edge of extinction.
Hi Hart! Will pop over to see what you’ve got to say about this critter.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen one, Elizabeth. Even in captivity. The only one I know I’ve seen was the cartoon and the stuffed animal – Arthur.
cool animal! Interesting topic choice, I love how diverse this challenge is this year! Blessings!
They are ugly beasties for sure… but to the point that they’re cute.
The challenge certainly is diverse. I can’t get over how many people signed up for the challenge this year. It’s my second time but the first time I’ve gone with a theme.
Thanks for stopping by, Beverly. I’ve visited your blog to see your “A”nimal of the day. 🙂
Loved your “A” post! Will be back for more!
