#AtoZChallenge – Elephant

Elephants are large mammals that are found in Africa and Asia. As their habitats suggest, they are known by the areas they live in.

Their large ear flaps help dissipate heat through the capillaries that carry the heated blood away from the animal’s body and out into the air.

  1. I thought about the elephant for my post. Looks like we both made the right choice. Great pictures. I didn’t realize their ears were different sizes. 🙂

  2. I absolutely love elephants! Their loyalty to each other and the love they obviously feel is so beautiful. Have you seen the post on Facebook going around, where the baby elephant gets stuck and all the grown-ups rush over to help it? Brought me to tears! 🙂

  3. Such gentle animals despite their size! Excellent tid-bit about their ear flaps being used to dissipate heat. Good going on the AtoZ!
